State Level MBA Exams…TANCET, RMAT, SEE-UPTU
The national level MBA entrance exams have been held and the next stage of the admissions procedure i.e. Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Essay Writing are soon starting. On the other hand, the state level exams are also on a roll. MAH CET 2011 is going to be the first state level MBA entrance exam, which will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011.
There are several other state level MBA entrance exams which are soon to follow suit. In this article of MBAUniverse.com, we tell you about these upcoming state-level entrance exams: Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET), Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET), Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) and Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (SEE-UPTU).

SEE-UPTU
Uttar Pradesh Technical University State Entrance Exam (SEE-UPTU) for MBA is organized by the Gautam Buddh Technical University, the erstwhile Uttar Pradesh Technical University. The exam is expected to be held in the second week of April this year. Last year, the exam was held on 17th and 18th April, 2010. The sections in the test consist of Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical and Abstract Arguing and Current Affairs.
ICET
The Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is the entrance exam for the MBA courses offered by the Universities in Andhra Pradesh. The test consists of 200 questions and the duration is 150 minutes. The sections covered in the exam are Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability and Communicational Ability. Last year, ICET was held on Thursday, May 27, 2010. This year the notification is expected in the second week of February.
TANCET
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Last year, the exam was held on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The duration of the exam is two hours and will start from 10 am. The last date to register for TANCET 2010 is Friday, April 26, 2010. The sections for TANCET exam are Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Computer Awareness. The number of questions will be 100 with five choices. There is 1 mark for correct answer and 1/5 negative marking for each wrong answer. This year, the exam is expected to be held in the last week of May 2011.
RMAT
Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is the state level MBA entrance exam for Rajasthan. RMAT 2010 was held on Sunday, May 23, 2010. The duration of the exam is 150 minutes. The total number of questions will be 200. The sections covered are Reasoning and Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Mathematical Ability, English Language Proficiency and General Awareness. This year, the exam is expected to be held on the last week of May.
GCET
Gujarat Common Entrance Test is conducted by Gujarat Technical University. It is a computer based test. CET paper consists of multiple choice objective questions. Each question has four choices. The duration of the test is 180 minutes. The sections of the exam are: Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency, General Awareness and Reasoning. There are 250 questions in the paper. Each question carries four marks and there is negative marking of 25 per cent for each wrong answer. GCET 2011 is likely to be conducted in June 2011.
MP MET
MP MET is the entrance exam for Madhya Pradesh and is conducted by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), Bhopal. It is a multiple choice objective questions test which contains 200 questions. The duration of the paper is three hours. There are six sections of the test. These are: Reading Comprehension, Verbal & Writing Ability, Numerical Ability, Business Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency and Business Judgment. Going by the previous exam schedule, MP-MET 2010 was held in April 18, 2010. The exam was announced on January 27.
